DawsonyWeb – Bulk Edit Tabs
Setup and everyday use.

Select posts, pages or products and open their editors in separate tabs. Useful for content reviews and updates where each item still needs your attention. Private editing queues follow you across list pages and filters.

Install the plugin

In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New Plugin and search for DawsonyWeb – Bulk Edit Tabs. Choose Install Now, then Activate.

Alternatively, download the free ZIP using the button on this page. In Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, select the ZIP, install it and activate. You do not need an account or a licence key.

Open selected items

Go to Posts, Pages or a compatible custom post type list. Tick the rows you want, then select Open Selected. The count follows your selection.

Use Open All on Page to open editable items on the current page. It does not open every item across all pages of a filtered result.

Save a private editing queue across post list pages and filters.

Keep a private editing queue

Expand Your saved editing queue in a supported content list. Tick items and choose Add selected to queue, then change page or filter and add more. Each queue holds up to 100 items and is saved separately for your WordPress user, site and post type.

Open queued items uses the same opening limit and confirmation threshold as the normal list buttons. Remove opened batch removes only tabs that opened successfully during that action; browser-blocked tabs stay queued. Remove individual entries after editing, or clear the queue when finished. The queue does not save editor changes or know whether an edit is complete. Permissions and trashed items are checked again on each load.

Use the opening controls, popup fallback and saved queue guidance.

Edit and save normally

Each tab opens the real edit link supplied by WordPress. Review the item and use its normal Update or Publish control to save your work.

Opening tabs does not change content or save edits. This is a shortcut to individual editors, not a bulk field editor.

When your browser blocks tabs

If your browser blocks some tabs, use the individual fallback links shown by the plugin. You can also allow pop-ups for your own WordPress admin site and try again.

The default maximum is 25 tabs per action, with confirmation for larger selections at the default threshold of 10. Keep batches manageable for your computer.

Supported lists and developer settings

Standard post list tables with editable row links are supported, including Posts, Pages and compatible custom post types such as WooCommerce Products. Other admin screens and custom order interfaces may not provide those links.

Tools → Bulk Edit Tabs contains the getting started guide. Developers can adjust the limit with dawsony_bulk_edit_tabs_limit and the confirmation threshold with dawsony_bulk_edit_tabs_confirm_threshold. The tab limit is constrained to 1–100.

Updates and support

Updates are delivered through the normal WordPress plugin update screen. Back up your site before updating and test changes on staging where possible. You can enable automatic updates from the Plugins screen if that suits your maintenance process.

If you need help, include the plugin version, WordPress version and the steps needed to reproduce the issue. Remove private customer details, passwords and keys from any screenshot or diagnostic report.
