WordPress care that catches breakage before customers notice

Monthly WordPress and WooCommerce care for site owners who want updates, backups, uptime and checkout health handled before customers notice. WordPress Care Plan £99, WooCommerce Care Plan £149.

WordPress care that catches breakage before customers notice

Most WordPress breakages do not arrive with a warning. An update lands overnight, a plugin fights another plugin, backups quietly stop writing, or WooCommerce stops sending order emails. Customers notice first. You find out when support tickets pile up or the till goes quiet.

I see this pattern a lot on sites that were "fine for months". Updates get left. Backups exist in theory. Nobody checks checkout until a real order fails. By then you are firefighting, not maintaining.

What gets left until it hurts

Core, theme and plugin updates sit in the dashboard for weeks because nobody wants to click Update and break the homepage on a Friday. Fair enough. Skipping them forever is how old PHP, abandoned plugins and known security holes stack up.

Backups are the other quiet failure. A nightly job that emails "success" while the zip is empty, or a host snapshot you cannot restore without a ticket, is not a recovery plan. You only learn that when you need yesterday's site and do not have it.

On WooCommerce stores the pain shows at checkout and in email. Payment gateways after a plugin bump, shipping rates that vanish, order emails stuck in spam or never leaving the server. Those are the ones that cost sales before anyone opens WP Admin.

What monthly care actually covers

Care is not a magic shield. It is someone with eyes open on the boring bits, on a schedule, before customers notice.

  • Updates with a quick look afterwards, not blind auto-everything. Core, themes and plugins get applied when it is safe, then the front end, forms and key pages get a pass.
  • Backups you can actually restore. Off-host copies, restore tests when they matter, and a clear place to get a working copy if something goes wrong.
  • Uptime and security watch. Downtime alerts, malware and login abuse checks, and a heads-up when something looks off rather than waiting for Google to tell your customers.
  • WooCommerce health where it counts. Checkout, cart, payment and order email paths get checked so a silent failure does not sit there for a week.

That is the job. Keep the site boring and working. Fix small things while they are still small.

When a care plan beats firefighting

Emergency fixes are fine when something blows up. They are expensive and stressful when the root cause was months of ignored updates and untested backups. A monthly plan costs less than one bad weekend of emergency work for most small sites.

It also suits owners who inherited a WordPress build, or who built with a developer who has gone quiet. You do not need another DIY checklist. You need someone accountable for the maintenance lane so you can run the business.

I offer a WordPress Care Plan at £99 and a WooCommerce Care Plan at £149. Same idea, more store-specific checks on the Woo side. Pricing and what sits in each plan is on the service page, no hard sell.

What this is not

It is not a free "do these 40 things yourself" guide dressed up as SEO. If you enjoy maintaining WordPress, fair play. Plenty of owners do not, and that is who care plans are for.

It is also not a redesign or a rebuild. If the theme is a mess or Woo has outgrown the current setup, that is separate project work. Care keeps a working site working while you decide what to change next.

Want updates, backups and store health handled before customers notice? Have a look at the WordPress Care Plan (£99) and WooCommerce Care Plan (£149), or ask if you need a one-off fix first.

If something is already broken, I also do WordPress and WooCommerce support for the awkward jobs that sit outside a monthly plan.

Leaving updates, backups and checkout health until something fails is how quiet sites suddenly get expensive. Catching breakage early is quieter work, and usually cheaper. Cheers.
