CSVReady is a bank CSV converter for Xero, QuickBooks and FreeAgent

You export a statement from your bank, open it in a spreadsheet, and spend twenty minutes shuffling columns so your accounting software will take it. The dates are the wrong way round. The amounts have pound signs stuck to them. Money in and money out are in one column, or two, or somehow both.

That is the whole job. It is not a glamorous one.

I built CSVReady to help with it. It is a small web tool from DawsonyWeb that prepares bank and payment CSV exports for Xero, QuickBooks Online or FreeAgent. You choose the source, check the mappings and review the result before importing.

What it actually does

Drop a bank CSV on the page and pick where it needs to go. CSVReady helps you:

  • Confirm date order, including dates that could mean two different days.
  • Remove currency symbols and stray spaces from amounts.
  • Map a signed amount or separate money-in and money-out columns.
  • Arrange the columns for Xero, QuickBooks Online's three- or four-column format, or FreeAgent.

Amounts are handled as exact two-decimal values. Invalid amounts are flagged rather than quietly rounded into something that looks valid. If the file has more than one currency, review each currency separately; CSVReady does not convert exchange rates.

You see the first five cleaned rows alongside checks across the file: totals, date range and possible duplicates. Duplicate warnings do not automatically remove transactions. You can also download a validation report for your records.

Try it before you tidy the lot

No account. No bank login. CSVReady does not connect to your bank. You upload a file you already have.

Download a free five-row sample and try it in the matching account in your accounting software. Check a payment, a deposit and the dates. A file that uploads successfully still needs reviewing, especially if you have already imported some of those transactions.

There are starting mappings for Stripe, Revolut Business, Barclays, Monzo Business, Wise, PayPal, SumUp and Shopify Balance. Export layouts vary, so check the selected columns against your actual file. For Stripe and other payment processors, preparing statement rows is not the same as splitting fees, creating invoices or reconciling payouts.

What happens to your file

The full converter processes uploads on the server. Retained statement records and conversion output are encrypted after processing. Download access ends 24 hours after upload, and scheduled cleanup removes expired files and conversion records. You can delete your file sooner from its preview.

Transaction data is not sent to AI services. Account, billing and support records have separate retention rules. The data-handling walkthrough explains the process in plain English.

What it costs

Free previews, five-row samples and validation reports are available. Paid full-file conversions are now open.

The price is £6 for one file or £19 a month for Pro. File access ends 24 hours after upload; paying does not restart that clock. Check the current pricing and availability before you buy.

Have a go

If you have a messy bank export sitting on your desktop, take it to CSVReady. There is an example statement if you just want to see how it works without uploading your own file.
